Dans une période où l’on constate un intérêt croissant pour les géosciences, ce colloque vise à faire le point sur un certain nombre d’enjeux de communication liant les sciences de la Terre à la société. Il est organisé à l’occasion du départ à la retraite du Professeur Michel Marthaler dont l’intense et fructueuse activité de communication s’est dès le départ fondée sur la conviction que les savoirs académiques dans ce domaine présentaient pour la société un potentiel largement sous-exploité. Des contributions sont attendues sous la forme de communications orales ou de posters dans les domaines du patrimoine géologique, des démarches didactiques, du développement de produits géotouristiques ainsi que des géosciences à l’école. Le colloque se tiendra en français et ses actes seront publiés en 2011.
